What we do
Monoculture is an increasing threat to local varieties and biodiversity. The promotion of large-scale production endangers small scale farmers. Resources such as lands, seeds and territory are being controlled by other actors than local farmers and communities. The lack of knowledge of the consequences results in the intensive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Active alumni will be the key players to work in their communities and lead initiatives. KMF will accompany and assist these alumni with their initiatives, enhance their networking, coordination, and strengthen their capacity even further. Four key networks will be encouraged: SEEBYN (Socially Engaged Ethnic Buddhist Youth Network), GYA (Green Youth Assembly), Sangha and YPL (Youth Peace Leaders). The tentative target location will include Magway, Sagaing, Southern Shan Kayah covering 4 villages.
